Why the base and the link must match
A fuse only achieves its rated breaking capacity when the base holds the contact blades with the intended pressure and the thermal path matches the link. Mixing sizes or using a base that is too large for the link reduces the contact area, raises the temperature and shortens the service life of the joint.
Installation notes
- Keep the contact blades clean and dry; the contact pressure is set by the base and must not be adjusted.
- Mount three-pole bases so that a three-phase link set can be replaced as one unit.
- Fit covers where the base is accessible, and add a monitoring switch where a blown fuse must be reported.
