Description
The WN-MD is a surge protective device (SPD) for low-voltage AC distribution systems including IT, TT, TN-C, TN-S and TN-C-S. It limits surges caused by indirect and direct lightning effects or other transient overvoltages, and it is a Class B (Type 1) device according to IEC 61643-1 with both common-mode (MC) and differential-mode (MD) protection.
Protection
- Class B (Type 1) surge protective device per IEC 61643-1.
- Common-mode (line to earth) and differential-mode (line to line) protection.
- Limits surges from indirect and direct lightning effects and switching transients.
- Manufactured to GB18802.1 / IEC61643-1.
Where it fits
- Main incoming protection at the low-voltage distribution board.
- Buildings, industrial plants and infrastructure exposed to lightning.
- Protecting sensitive electrical and electronic equipment.
Selection and ordering
Confirm the system type (IT, TT, TN-C, TN-S or TN-C-S), the level of lightning exposure and the location in the installation (main board or downstream). We will confirm the correct device and provide a quotation.
FAQ
What does a surge protective device do?
An SPD such as the WN-MD diverts surge energy caused by lightning or switching events away from equipment, protecting circuits and connected devices from transient overvoltages.
What is the difference between common-mode and differential-mode protection?
Common-mode protection limits surges between live conductors and earth; differential-mode protection limits surges between live conductors. The WN-MD provides both.
Which systems is it suitable for?
IT, TT, TN-C, TN-S and TN-C-S low-voltage AC distribution systems.
